Gotta Show the Movie Poster...

Coming out this Friday...what are your thoughts?

  1. Honestly? The movie sucked. They screwed up everything. Not just the characters appearance (although they did do that) but they screwed up the plot and the personalities of the characters.

Exhibit A) THE PLOT: The entire movie is about getting the Persephone pearls. In the book a Water Spirit sent by Percy's dad (Poseidon) just hands the Pearls over. They DO NOT travel all over the country looking for the pearls!!!!

Exhibit B) THE UNDERWORLD: While in the Underworld, Hades makes a deal: If Percy can find his Helm Of Darkness, Hades would hand over Percy's mom. In the movie does this happen? No SIR! Hades gets angry at Percy and tries to kill them, minutes from death they are only saved by Persephone. They then leave Grover in the Underworld and take Percy's mom back to the day world. In the book? Grover is taken out and Percy's mom stays.

Exhibit C) ARES: In the book Ares plays a HUMUNGOUS part of the story. In the movie Ares isn't even mentioned.

Exhibit D) THE LIGHTENING BOLT AND TRITON: In the movie Percy uses both the Triton and the Lightening Bolt. In the book Percy uses neither, if he did he would be vaporized by the Gods. All he uses in the book is a sword.

Exhibit E) ANNABETH AND PERCY: Annabeth shows feelings for Percy in the movie. In the book this doesn't happen. She calls him Seaweed Brain if that counts for feelings of infatuation. (Atleast it doesn't happen in the first book.)

Exhibit F) LUKE AND PERCY: Luke and Percy battle it out in the movie over ownership of the Lightening bolt (This part happens to be the Climax of the movie). In the book Percy doesn't even know Luke is bad until the very end of the book. And there isn't a fight. Luke puts a majorly poisonous scorpion in front of Percy and just walks off. Percy doesn't even scratch Luke.

There are SOOO many more things I could rant on, and trust me I would, but Karen will kill me if I ignore her any longer. Thank you!
